The Chakras and the Human Body

The chakras are invisible energy centers located within the body that interact with the electromagnetic energy field.  Each chakra is located at a different point on the body.  Each chakra acts as a portal between these different levels of electromagnetic fields and the body.  The location of the chakras on the human body are usually well known to those who study yoga, meditation, and many Eastern esoteric and holistic health modalities.

The Chakras located on the Hand

There are palmistry regions within the hand that represent each chakra.  There are also reflex points located in each seven chakra areas of the hand.  Let’s take a look at each chakra location on the palm, along with its corresponding attributes and reflex points.

The Root Chakra – The root chakra is located in the center of the palm between the headline and heart line.  This area occupies the reflex points for the intestines, bladder, appendix/gallbladder, and hip.  The root chakra in the hand can be balanced by rolling clay between the palms, which can stimulate its reflex points.

The Spleen Chakra – The Spleen chakra is located on the sides of the wrist.  This area holds the reflex points for the testes, ovaries, prostate, and uterus. From a palmistry and hand reflexology perspective, you can help balance the spleen chakra by gently massaging the area.  This area can often be extra sensitive for people due to it being an erogenous zone.

The Solar Plexus Chakra – The Solar Plexus chakra is located on the palm between the heart line and the headline.  The reflex points within this region are stomach, kidneys, pancreas, and liver.  The most effective way to help balance the solar plexus chakra is through yoga breathing exercises.

The Heart Chakra – The Heart Chakra region is located just above the heart line on the palm.  The reflex points within this region are the lung, the adrenal glands, and the heart itself.  From the palmistry point of view, you can help balance your heart chakra by massaging the region and the mounts found just beneath the fingers.

The Throat Chakra – The Throat Chakra region is located on the Mount of Venus area on the palm.  The reflex points within this region are the neck, throat, and thyroid.  A beneficial technique for balancing the throat chakra through palmistry involves rubbing the Mounts of Venus (the pads of the hands) together.

The Third Eye Chakra – The Third Eye Chakra region is located on the lower phalange of the thumb.  The reflex point it corresponds with is the head.  To help balance the third eye chakra, meditate with a clear crystal on your forehead while practicing yogic breathing.  From a palmistry point of view, perform a firm massage of the middle joint of the thumb.  This combination of yogic breathing and reflexology can really help balance this chakra.

The Crown Chakra– The Crown Chakra region is located on the upper phalange of the thumb.  The reflex point it corresponds with is the brain and pineal gland. To help balance the crown chakra, simply massage the region on the palm
