The Seven Rays in Esoteric Astrology
In Esoteric Astrology, all of life has been initiated by the Seven Rays. These seven rays are light beams that filter their light down within a cosmic hierarchical system. The rays flow through the zodiac signs and the planets and hold correspondences to them. Each zodiac sign corresponds with 1 to 3 rays. Each ray corresponds to a specific will:
Ray Number One is the ray of will and power. It corresponds to the signs Aries, Leo, and Capricorn. Its associated planets are Pluto and Vulcan.
Ray Number Two is the ray of love and wisdom. It corresponds to the signs Gemini, Virgo, and Pisces. Its associated planets are the Sun and Jupiter.
Ray Number Three is the ray of active creative intelligence. It corresponds to the signs of Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. Its associated planets are the Earth and Saturn.
Ray Number Four is the ray of harmony through conflict. It corresponds to the signs of Taurus, Scorpio, and Sagittarius. Its associated planets are the Moon and Mercury.
Ray Number Five is the ray of concrete science. It corresponds to the signs of Leo, Sagittarius, and Aquarius. Its associated planet is Venus.
Ray Number Six is the ray of idealism and devotion. It corresponds to the signs of Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. Its associated planets are Mars and Neptune.
Ray Number Seven is the ray of order and ceremonial magic. It corresponds to the signs of Aries, Cancer, and Capricorn. Its associated planet is Uranus.
Esoteric Astrology Celestial Bodies
Additional celestial bodies that go beyond the traditional are present within Esoteric Astrology charts. Great emphasis is given to Vulcan, a nonphysical planet. Vulcan is said to be a hidden planet. Venus is the ruler of Taurus. However, in esoteric astrology, Vulcan is Taurus’s secondary, or esoteric ruler. Vulcan is related to Ray Number One, as it relates to Aries. As a person raises their consciousness, they will become more familiar with Vulcan and other hidden planets and cosmic energies. This is also true of other hidden planets that humans are unreceptive to until their consciousness rises to a certain level.
Esoteric Astrology Rulerships
In Esoteric Astrology, each zodiac sign has 3 types of rulerships. These are; exoteric, esoteric and hierarchical. For example, Aries’s exoteric, or traditional ruler is Mars. Its esoteric ruler is Mercury. Finally, it has rulership that goes beyond the esoteric. This is the hierarchical rulership. Sometimes the Esoteric Ruler can be the same as the Hierarchical Ruler. Aries’ hierarchical rulership is Uranus. Aries corresponds to rays 1 & 7. Here are the rest of the zodiac signs and rulerships:
