Anti-Anxiety Spell || Herbal Salve

With everything that is continuing to go on in the world and back to school upon us I know that, at least for me, this is a very stressful and anxiety-inducing time, especially for those of us that are fairly anxious people in general! So in light of this and due to the suggestion of the lovely people over on my Patreon page, I have concocted a simple little salve to help combat these anxious times.

Ingredients:

1 cup of olive oil (or other oil of choice)
1 ounce of beeswax (if you are using another oil and it is solid at room temperature cut down on the amount of beeswax used)
a small scoop of coconut oil (optional)
lavender – for peace
chamomile – for calm
lemon – for purification and happiness
-as always the herbal ingredients in magickal recipes are free to be interchanged as magickal associations aren’t set in stone. What works for one may not work for another and the understood powers of herbs vary across cultures! So if you don’t have all the ingredients I do or would wish to change it up some absolutely do! Listen to your gut with this type of thing, it’s usually right

To make the salve add a good scoop of each herb into a jar along with the oil – I would recommend working to infuse your energy into each herb as you go blessing them in turn.

Then add the jar to a pot of water and let in boil in this double boiler situation for up to 6 hours ( can be less if need be but at least get a good 3 hours in there)
-visit it every once in a while to give it a little stir to continue infusing your energy and intention into the oil.

Once the time has passed pull it off the heat and let the herbs sit in the oil to infuse overnight

the next day bring the oil back to a pot of water however this time adding another jar with the beeswax in it. Here we are working to melt the beeswax and bring the oil up to temperature.

Once the beeswax is melted and the oil is appropriately hot, strain the oil into the beeswax and give it a good mix. This is when you can choose to add essential oils if you so choose or if you wish to opt-out of that just add in the coconut oil here.

Then pour it out into a heat-safe container and wait for it to cool

Once it’s cool it’s ready for use! Just rub it into your hand and if needed down your forehead anytime you are feeling anxious.
