Sigils are common to Kabbalistic teachings and Jewish mysticism.  They make up the foundation of much of Western magick.  Alchemists, magicians, shamans, and witches have worked with sigils as magical tools throughout the ages. Traditional sigils can be found in several forms, such as within the yantras found in Hindu tantra.  Other forms include Norse and Germanic bind runes and the hexagrams found within the Chinese I Ching.  Most sigils are constructed using geometric patterns, such as squares or circles that contain numbers and/or letters.  Sigils are made up of a specific type of energy pattern.  Some sigils are more complex than others.  An example of very simple sigils are those found in Astrology glyphs.
